Webinar: Being Presbyterian in an age of New Calvinism – Dr Sylvia McCracken

May 26

10:00 am - 11:30 am

Being Presbyterian

Many Presbyterians recognise a change has been happening across the landscape of PCI but have struggled to articulate what it is… many feel that the church they once knew is being overshadowed by a new set of ideas and beliefs that seem alien to the Presbyterianism they grew up with. If you can identify with this – then sign up and discover more about identity, New Calvinism and three difficulties with this new theological perspective.

To book your place on Wednesday 26th May at 10,00am simply click on the Eventbrite link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/154569903743 or cut and paste this link into your web browser. This will take you to the Eventbrite website.

The webinar will be led by Dr Sylvia McCracken

Sylvia is from East Belfast. She is married with grown up children and an increasing number of grandchildren. Her professional background is family and childcare social work, specialising in fostering and adoption. Her recent doctoral thesis focused on the sociology of religion and identity from a critical realist perspective using biographical narrative research methods. Sylvia has worked within PCI as a youth and family ministry coordinator and is an elder in her local congregation. She serves on the Being Presbyterian Committee and helps organise the Calling Women Association Network. Her favourite form of relaxation is gardening and walking beside the Atlantic Ocean.

This webinar will be repeated on Thursday 27th May at 7.30pm for those unable to make a daytime arrangement
